Dr John J. Ryan MD

Medical Director

Family & Sports Medicine | Dermatology | Women’s Health | Psychiatry

With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr Ryan is a leader in family and sports medicine. A long-standing member of the IRFU, he has a special interest in sports injury management, arthritis, and skin cancer. He works closely with our in-house physiotherapy team, led by Andrew Watson, to help patients remain active and pain-free.

Dr Ryan holds eight postgraduate higher diplomas, including Dermatology (UCD), Sports Medicine (RCSI), Women’s Health (RCOG, London), Psychiatry, and Geriatrics, along with qualifications in Patient Safety, Child Health, Contraception, and LARC procedures.

He is a lecturer and medical trainer with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and an active member of multiple professional medical societies.

Dr Lucy McShane, MICGP

Women’s Health | Contraception | Menopause | Dermatology

Dr McShane brings warmth, expertise, and a thoughtful approach to women’s health. Her interests include family planning, LARC procedures (Implanon and coils), menopause care, and dermatology. She is passionate about empowering women through education and personalized care plans.

She holds a Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (RCPI), a Certificate in Dermatology (UCD), and an Advanced Certificate in LARC. Dr McShane is also an experienced medical trainer and a certified smear taker with Cervical Check Ireland.

Dr Caoimhe Daly, MICGP

Women’s Health | Family Planning | Menopause | Dermatology

A UCD graduate, Dr Daly is dedicated to supporting women through every stage of life. She has additional training in dermatology (Cardiff), contraception, and menopause care, and performs coil and Implanon insertions.

Certified with Cervical Check Ireland, Dr Daly is known for her calm, thorough, and compassionate approach, making her a trusted choice for patients seeking personalised care.

Dr Brontë Cloete Wakefield, MICGP

Women’s Health | Musculoskeletal Injury | Addiction Medicine

Dr Brontë Cloete Wakefield is a compassionate family physician with special interests in women’s health, musculoskeletal injury, and addiction medicine. She runs a dedicated Well Woman Clinic every Thursday (9:00am–5:00pm) at Fitzwilliam Square, offering expert care in contraception, cervical screening, menstrual health, menopause support, and sexual health.

A UCD medical graduate, Dr Wakefield holds a Diploma in Obstetrics & Women’s Health and a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Injury. Her experience spans Ireland and Australia across general practice, emergency medicine, palliative care, and gynaecology.

She also practices in addiction medicine at the Rutland Centre and is a tutor at UCD, teaching general practice and professionalism to medical students.
