The D2 medical centre is first and foremost a general family practice, however it has a major interest in travel vaccines with over 180 countries listed on its data base on the site. It also provides a centre of excellence in health screening, STD screening, family planning and sports medicine.

The centre has over 3000 square feet of medical office space and consultation rooms making it one of the largest in all of Dublin. This new facility is state of the art in bringing excellence in medical care to the heart of Dublin.

Dr John J Ryan is the medical director of the D2 medical centre. Dr  Ryan is a graduate of university college Galway. He went on to do the western training scheme in psychiatry and the vocational GP training scheme. Dr Ryan is a founder member of D doc Dublin doctors on call, and writes for several national newspapers in Ireland weekly health columns on general family practice. The centre as well as been a specialised centre in travel vaccines also delivers a full program of health screening, insurance medicals, sports medicine, family planning, STI screening, emergency contraception, implanon insertion & smears. Note the D2 medical centre now provides free cervical smears and is part of the national cervical check program with results in a turn around time of 3 weeks. It is a full computerised practice and has electronic links the labs in St Vincents and St James Hospitals. Dr Ryan has 8 professional medical diplomas in total.  He has a diploma in child health from the Royal College of Surgeons, a diploma in womens health from the Irish College of Physicians. He also has a diploma in clinical psychiatry from the Irish College of Physicians. Dr Ryan also has a diploma in geriatric medicine from the Irish College of Physicians. Dr Ryan was full medical registration with both the Irish Medical Council and the General Medical Council of Great Britain. Dr Ryan has a DRCOG diploma from the royal college of Obstetricians and gynaecologists in London. Dr Ryan has a joint diploma in sports medicine from the Irish college of general practitioners and the royal college of Physicians Ireland. Dr Ryans seventh diploma is in dermatology from University College Dublin. Dr Ryans eight diploma is a higher diploma in patient safety from the Irish College of physicians of Ireland.  Dr Ryans ninth diploma in Occupational health with the Irish college of general practitioners and the Irish college of physicians is due for completion in 2017.  Dr Ryan is an associate member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. Dr Ryan has full idemnity insurance from the medical protection society in London. He is a full GP member of the Irish medical organisation.

Nurse Dalia Flood runs a special well woman clinic 5 days a week she can she patients over lunch hour. She is available to do all smear tests as part on the national cervical smear check program which is free for all women from age 25 years and over at our practice. All you now have to do is bring along your PPS number on the day. The turn around time for results is 3 weeks.

Dr Kathrese Mockler we are delighted to say has joined our practice in its development. Her well woman clinic Clinic is from 9 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm on a wednesday. She has a special interest in womens health. She is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons. She has full MICGP membership as well as a diploma in child health and a diploma in medicine of the elderly. Please call Catherine Rhodes her secretary for a appointment to this special womens clinic all day every Wednesday. 

Dr Edward Kennedy is a family doctor and his new private clinic is on a Monday morning only from 9am to 1pm. He is the medical director of the Pembroke clinic and has decided to partner Dr John J Ryan.

Dr Gemma Kiernan (B.A., Ph.D., Postgrad Dip. Psychotherapy, REg Psychol. Ps.S.I. MIACP) has joined our practice and has her private rooms at the d2  medical centre. Dr. Gemma Kiernan is a Registered Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist and has a PhD in psychology. She has worked in a range of health and educational organisations and is currently a Senior Lecturer in psychology and psychotherapy in Dublin City University. In her private practice, she provides a caring and respectful clinical environment drawing on integrative psychotherapeutic principles, including cognitive behavioural strategies, to help people cope with a wide range of psychological issues and to make positive changes in their lives. Specialisms and expertise include stress, anxiety and depression, psychological aspects of physical illnesses such as cancer, and bereavement and loss. Dr. Kiernan has over 20 psychological publications including peer reviewed and professional journals, book chapters and reports, and over 50 national and international conference presentations. Mr Michael Glynn consultant orthopedic surgeon has his private rooms also at the clinic.
