Meet Our Expert GPs

Dr John J. Ryan, MD MRCGP

Family & Sports Medicine | Dermatology | Women’s Health | Psychiatry

With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr Ryan is a leader in family and sports medicine. A long-standing member of the IRFU, he has a special interest in sports injury management, arthritis, and skin cancer. Dr Ryan is passionate about helping patients stay active and pain-free, working closely with our in-house physiotherapy team led by Andrew Watson.

He holds eight postgraduate diplomas including Dermatology (UCD), Sports Medicine (RCSI), Women’s Health (RCOG London), Psychiatry, and Geriatrics, along with qualifications in Patient Safety, Contraception (LARC), and Child Health.

Dr Ryan is also a lecturer and medical trainer with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and an active member of numerous professional medical societies.

Dr Lucy McShane, MICGP

Women’s Health | Contraception | Menopause | Dermatology

Dr McShane brings warmth and expertise to women’s health, including family planning, LARC procedures (Implanon, coils), and menopause care. Her thoughtful approach empowers women through education and tailored health plans.

She holds a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCPI), a Certificate in Dermatology (UCD), and an Advanced Certificate in LARC. She is also an experienced medical trainer and certified smear taker with Cervical Check Ireland.

Dr Caoimhe Daly, MICGP

Women’s Health | Family Planning | Menopause | Dermatology

A UCD graduate and highly regarded GP, Dr Daly is dedicated to supporting women through every stage of life. She has a special interest in holistic care, with additional training in dermatology (Cardiff), contraception, and menopause.

Dr Daly performs coil and Implanon insertions, and is certified with Cervical Check Ireland. Her calm and supportive nature makes her a favourite among patients seeking personal, thorough care.

Dr Niamh Walley, MICGP

General Practice | Women’s Health | Palliative Care | Mental Health

Dr Walley is an experienced and compassionate GP with over a decade of medical practice across Ireland and Australia. Her areas of interest include women’s health, mental health, elderly care, and health promotion.

She has worked in public health and across hospital and GP settings, and is committed to building long-term, trusting relationships with her patients. Dr Walley currently sees patients on Mondays from 9am to 5pm.

All of our GPs have higher diplomas in women’s health and bring a wide breadth of experience to our Well-Woman Clinics.
